WIP- Continuing with Illustrator

This week has just been solely working on Illustrator. I thought I had almost finished my poster until I asked someone for their opinion and they did not like my choice of colours. They thought it did not match my topic.I also feel like my font is very ‘old school’ so I need to keep researching to find the right font. I feel like something else is missing but cannot figure out what it is. I feel like my poster is a bit too plain and not advanced enough for this assignment.

So next week (my final week of this project), I will be focussing on changing the colour scheme, adding something more to it and finding a more suited font.

WIP- Starting my Infographic

This week, I started to create my infographic. I have been playing around with different ideas, shapes and colours. I like the idea of having a blender as the main shape on my page. I also want the blender to be a bright colour so it stands out and is the first thing that people see when they look at my poster.

After starting my poster, I got quite stuck. I did not think the idea I had in my head was developed enough to go through with it. I also thought there was too much writing on poster and that it was getting quite boring to look at. I also think that having the ingredients as just squares, is not exciting enough so I am going to draw out the ingredients instead.

I also did more research and was inspired by some really cool ideas on google. These are all smoothie infographics. I do not want to copy the ideas but researching this showed me that there are so many different ways I could produce a poster. I am going to take a little break from working on my poster so i can come up with a better idea next week

WIP- Gathering Information

This week, I just worked on gathering information for my infographic. I want int to be informative and have information that people may not already know. This is what I have come up with so far:

Kale- Kale is a green vegetable typically used in salads and stir-fry’s but can be thrown into a smoothie for extra nutrition. It is full of fibre, Vitamin A, C and K, Omega 3 and protein.

Blueberries- Blueberries are not only tasty, but have one of the best health benefits of fruit. These benefits include Vitamin K, Manganese, Vitamin C, Fibre and copper.

Banana- Not only do bananas have a variety of vitamins and minerals, they are also very filling. The list of vitamins and minerals are Vitamin B6, Manganese, Vitamin C, Potassium, Protein, Magnesium and Iron.

Spirulina Powder is a type of natural algae that is high in protein, vitamin B, iron and antioxidants.

Almond Milk- Since Almond milk is made from water and almonds, it is very natural and things have not been added to it. It is low in fat but high in energy, protein, lipids, fibre, calcium, iron, magnesium, and Vitamin C and B6.

Greek Yogurt- Greek yogurt is first of all, a probiotic, which has good bacteria that helps to clean your body. It is also full of protein, vitamin B12, Potassium, Iodine and Calcium.

Work In Progress: Concepts and ideas

This week, I have done a few sketched ideas for my infographic. I want to have a big blender as the main image and then have lots of little images of ingredients around it. The title will be big and bold and will also have a little blurb with all the nutritional information.

Communication Objectives

For my next project, I want to communicate how to create the perfect smoothie. I wanted to do this idea because I imagined the use of colour of the ingredients and I also want to research to find the ‘perfect recipe. I will then be able to share this recipe with others. I want to add in nutritional ingredients and write about the healthy benefits of each ingredient on the poster. I want to have a blender as the main part of the poster and have the ingredients surrounding it.
